As there were so many memorable days, winning the Junior A Championship and reaching the Munster Junior A Football Final and going on to win the U 21 C Football Title were definitely the highlights, but reaching the Minor A Final (with Kildysart) and victory for the u14 s in the West Clare Divisional B Final were also great achievements.  She also reported on Fundraising and Pitch Development during the year, which included the purchase of New Nets and Poles and the Sanding of the pitch. In October 2015 Coolmeen GAA were delighted to be able to facilitate a fundraising benefit night held in aid of Patrick & Mary Meaney house fire fund. He thanked everyone who travelled all year supporting all teams and and for all the financial support received. David also spoke of the need of further improvement of faciilities at the club and also to encourage all children in the parish to participate at underage level. Coolmeens Path to The Munster Final

posted 5 Dec 2015, 13:49 by Coolmeen GAA

The GAA Provincial Club Championships are the heartbeat of our Association. Cúil Mín GAA has experienced this fantastic feeling this Autumn. On Saturday, October 10th we reclaimed the Clare County Junior A Title after a break of 16 years. After a week of celebrating a new task appeared on the horizon, the Munster Junior Club Championship. So on Sat Nov 7th we travelled to Askeaton, to face Limerick Champions, Cappagh. On a beautiful autumnal afternoon our brave players earned a hard fought victory. History had been made, we had won our first ever Munster Club game at our third attempt. Now giddy with excitement we faced a home semi-final against Waterford Champions, Modeilgo. On a cold, wet, windy November Saturday we travelled up the road to Cooraclare Pitch. Despite the weather all our supporters were in great form. With a performance that would warm the cockles of your heart our players played like Lions to fashion a famous victory. The roar from our supporters that greeted the final whistle will never be forgotten. Incredibly, our club will contest a Munster Final. Later that evening we found out that the Kerry Champions, Templenoe would be our opponents.
Our entire community has experienced a joyous lift in the build up to the big day. Fundraising efforts have been organised to help finance our run to the final. Our club has become more cohesive & united by this success on the pitch. So, on tomorrow Sunday December 6th every man, woman & child in our parish will travel to Mallow Co. Cork to face our destiny.
Hope springs eternal. CÚIL MÍN ABÚ.

Thanks to Paul Kenny.
