Coolmeen 2:07 Newmarket on Fergus 1:07

COOLMEEN continue their perfect start to 2016 with a fourth victory, this time over Newmarket on Fergus on home ground last Sunday 10th of April. It was difficult to fault either team, who both played outstanding on the day under such terrible weather conditions.

An impressive start from Gillian Finucane, Emma McMahon and Eimear O’Connor who all pointed before McMahon landed a goal. Newmarket on Fergus responded with a goal and point delivered from Gemma McInerney and Jenny Kelly before half time and left the score Coolmeen 1:04 Newmarket on Fergus 1:01.

Newmarket on Fergus tackled against the strong winds in the second half, and responded with a further six points. A determined Coolmeen side further attacked with fluid passing play, concluding with scores from Emma McMahon and Eimear O’Connor before the full time whistle. Thus, allowing Coolmeen to maintain their perfect record.

Coolmeen meet Miltown in the fifth and final round of the division two ladies football league next month.
