Cúil Mín / Kildysart defeated Clarecastle in the U – 16 Championship on a score of 0 – 11 to 1 – 00. This quarter final match was played in dry, breezy conditions on a wet and muddy pitch. Cúil Mín / Kildysart played into the breeze in the opening half but despite plenty of possession, failed to score. Clarecastle, on the other hand, managed a goal. The half-time was score Cúil Mín / Kildysart 0 - 00 Clarecastle 1 - 00.

On the restart Cúil Mín / Kildysart upped their game and got on the scoreboard with an excellent point from a long range free by Cian Murphy. Cúil Mín / Kildysart then went on a scoring spree and managed to keep the ball in Clarecastle’s half for most of the second half - with Cian Murphy giving a man of the match performance. Clarecastle tried hard to secure posession but were denied by some great defending.

Best for the winners were Cian Murphy, Kevin Mc Mahon and Rory Mc Mahon. Best for Clarecastle were goalie Ronan Garvey and David Barry.
